I WORK EN PLEIN AIR, OUT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE… Welcome. I am back to painting again after a sabbatical that included a few pieces done for charitable fund raisers. I am continuing to make small, 6" x 8", landscape oils, but not every day. I am also working on larger pieces. Every time I finish a painting, I will place it here on my website. I visited the Polly Hill Arboritum to find this flower. It was one of the last tree peonies that had not shed any petals yet. Usually, I get here later and miss all of this type of peony. It rained in the middle of my painting session, but I hid under my umbrella and it passed quickly by…

This is one of my large flower series paintings. I usually do 1 or 2 per year… “Huge Pink Peony” was painted in a straight, direct painting style as opposed to my pointillist style.
