I WORK EN PLEIN AIR, OUT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE… Welcome. I am back to painting again after a sabbatical that included a few pieces done for charitable fund raisers. I am continuing to make small, 6" x 8", landscape oils, but not every day. I am also working on larger pieces. Every time I finish a painting, I will place it here on my website. Just as yesterday’s painting was an opportunity to capture a fleeting moment, so was today’s. I came upon both scenes right as the sun set, grabbed my tools and painted into the darkness, trying to catch both the sky’s afterglow and the accompanying reflections on the surface of the water…

This is a location I have visited over and over in the day time trying to pull a painting out of. Really, all it took was to arrive at mosquito feeding time to see the mantle of the evening’s light clothe the seascape in queenly splendor…
