I WORK EN PLEIN AIR, OUT IN THE COUNTRYSIDE… Welcome. I am back to painting again after a sabbatical that included a few pieces done for charitable fund raisers. I am continuing to make small, 6" x 8", landscape oils, but not every day. I am also working on larger pieces. Every time I finish a painting, I will place it here on my website. On rainy days I enjoy setting up still lifes to paint. Figs can be a challenge because of their dark color, but cut open they offer a different story. I really wanted to eat this, but had to wait until I had finished. It was good!…

Today was another rain out day among other things. So I thought a still life appropriate. Except that the still life I wanted to do in day light, had to wait for night lights. A friend visiting the island was rushed to hospital emergency room and I had pick her up when she was finally discharged at 2:30 am. She is ok, thanks for asking!…

My friend, Tiberia from Barking Rocks Winery, had a 5 foot by 5 foot by 2 foot crate of strawberries he had hand picked in his wine room! As I was leaving after helping syphon out some muscat wine, I thought maybe I should paint some strawberries before he crushes them all. By the time I finished this piece the chocolate had melted under the heat from my lights. It tasted great with the strawberries though!…

I bought a bunch of different cheese the other day. This swiss was fun to paint, and to think about eating after! The apples were a bit of a challenge with some spots of yellow going into the shadow areas. Of course I didn’t drink any wine yet, or you wouldn’t be looking at this painting!!!…
